Dr. Putnam serves as the Chair of the Pediatrics Department at Esse Health.

Dr. Putnam joined Esse Health in 2001 after serving as a Chief Resident at St. Louis Children’s Hospital.  He is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at Washington University School of Medicine and is co-chief of the Section of Community Pediatrics in the Department of Pediatrics. Dr. Putnam is board-certified in pediatrics and is a Fellow in the American Academy of Pediatrics

At Esse Health, Dr. Putnam is a member of the Clinical Council.  He is interested in population health for pediatric patients with chronic conditions and performance improvement in health care.  Dr. Putnam is also interested in peer coaching and communication in pediatric medicine.

Dr. Putnam has been selected by his peers for inclusion in Best Doctors in America ® from 2009 to 2020.
